and Disaster Preparedness

    Face to Face Option

Are you a traditional college student interested in working for FEMA or another emergency management agency?   Or have you always wanted to be a firefighter or a paramedic?  Many EMS-related professions are now requiring a bachelor's or master's degree to make the move into administration, so why not get that done right here at EIU?   Our community college partner Lake Land College offers an online Fire Management program, and all of those hours can be counted toward your degree at EIU.  Lake Land also offers a CoAEMSP-accredited Paramedic program.  Talk to Mrs. Amanda Harvey (ajharvey2@eiu.edu) about the possibility of dual enrollment at both LLC and EIU, and you can work on your paramedic license and your BS at the same time.

    Online BS Degree Completion Program

Are you an EMS professional who needs to complete your degree for career advancement?  Our COMPLETELY ONLINE BS degree completion program is for you!  All required courses, and a broad selection of the electives are taught ONLINE on a rotating schedule.  Transfer in your EMS-related courses, and we will count them toward degree completion.  Contact Mrs. Amanda Harvey (ajharvey2@eiu.edu) for more information!

    Accelerated MS:  Public Health

If earning your master's degree is on your radar, too, and you have 3.25 cumulative GPA, then check out the Accelerated MS program.  Students who apply and qualify can take up to 9 s.h. of graduate courses during their senior year, and count those 9 hours toward completion of BOTH their BS and their MS degrees.  That's 9 hours of graduate tuition saved, and you can graduate a semester earlier!  Mrs. Amanda Harvey (ajharvey2@eiu.edu) can tell you all about how it works, and get your shared coursework approved.

All required courses must be completed with a grade of C or better, with the exception of 4275: Internship, which is CR/NC.
