Hi Panthers it is a pleasure to serve as the Nutrition Education Coordinator at the HERC. As the Nutrition Education Coordinator, the goal is to provide self-efficacy when it comes to overall nutrition and wellness. You are in the driver's seat of your health; we am merely here to assist you in creating mindful patterns and behaviors. Our services include one-on-one nutritional assessment sessions through our Nutritional Analysis program, administering events such as Healthy Cooking 101, and collaborating with various departments to provide nutrition education programming campus wide. Healthy Cooking 101 is a series of cooking classes throughout the year that feature different themes, cooking techniques, and aspects of balanced nutrition.This program is a hands-on experience in the kitchen. No kitchen or nutrition experience is required, it’s FREE and the best part is you get to eat what you make! Registration is required; please click on the date to sign up for the session you wish to attend. Don’t hesitate to sign up for the sessions, as each class fills up quickly!
This event will center on the health benefits of the included ingredients and how important fiber is in our diet. This presentation is in partnership with the Botany Club as they will be providing some of the ingredients. Foods that will be cooked include Pesto Pasta Salad and Balsamic Bruschetta.
Additional notes: parmesan cheese will be used for the balsamic bruschetta

This event will center on what exactly is a legume and other plant based protein. Additionally we'll talk about whole wheat/whole grain items and their importance. Foods that will be cooked include pumpkin bars and rosemary roasted chickpeas.

This event is a Collaboration with the HERC Mental Health Graduate Assitant (GA), and the HERC Nutrition Coordinator GA. Learn and understand signs and safety of Sexual Assualt. Fun and interactive way of learning how a sundae is like sex through the preparation of your own personal sundae. Sign up with your friends or come and join your peers and make some new friends! Look to make smoothie bowls and learn the basics of nutrition. Please be aware of the following allergies: almond milk is used but apple juice alternative will be available

Feeling spookie? Join us for halloween themed stuffed peppers where the stuffing is vegetarian. You'll also learn about how to be heart healthy while making a heart healthy trail mix.
Additional note: trail mix will contain nuts but stuffed pepper will be vegetarian
