EIU Campus Recreation

 

EIU Facility Reservation Policies

  • The reserving group/organization is responsible for leaving the assigned space in the same condition as when the activity began. Misuse of facility may result in refusal of permission of future use and/or charges for additional cleaning of the facility.
  • Groups/organizations which have reserved EIU facilities will be held liable for all behavior of any individuals attending events. Such groups will also be responsible for the damage of any equipment and/or facilities.
  • Alcoholic beverages MAY NOT be served/consumed at events.
  • EIU is a smoke-free campus. Smoking is only permitted in outside, designated smoking areas.
  • Recognized Student Organizations and University Departments will be granted free use of the facilities unless an admission or registration fee is assessed.
  • All events will conform to the established policies of the University and Student Recreation Center.
  • Unusual event forms must be completed prior to any event including non-EIU groups or participants.
  • Non-University organizations are required to provide the University with proof of insurance for $1,000,000.00 liability coverage for property damage, bodily injury and/or personal injury.

General Campus Recreation Reservation Policies

  • A member of the Campus Recreation supervisor team must be present any time an event is in progress in the SRC. This includes during setup and teardown.
  • Facilities are available for reservation when Intramural Sports, Group Fitness, Academic Classes, and/or maintenance activities are not being conducted.
  • All reservation requests must be made a minimum of 2 weeks in advance. No day-of reservations will be permitted.
  • Campus groups wishing to reserve Campus Recreation facilities must be university departments or recognized student organizations.  All outside groups or on-campus groups with activities including off-campus participants must schedule through Campus Scheduling (581-3861).
  • Fees assessed for set-up, tear-down, cleaning, etc. billed by the university (Facilities and Planning Management) will be paid by the group or organization renting the space.  Quotes can be provided in advance.
  • Reservations that occur outside SRC operational hours will be subject to a fee of $30.00 per hour per space reserved.
  • Cancellation of any event with less than one week (seven days) notice to the Campus Recreation Office will require payment of all reservation fees assessed for the event.  Refunds will not be provided unless events are cancelled more than one week (seven days) in advance.
  • External speaker music may not be played in courts, lobby, weight room, track, or workout areas.  Personal headphones only.

*On campus organizations/sponsored events pay fees only when charging an admission or registration fee, when requesting space outside normal operating hours, and/or when requesting use of the pool.

*Quotes will be provided prior to any event being assessed a fee.

Court Reservation Policies

  • Courts reservations may be made any time the SRC is open.  Limit of 4 hours per week per organization or department.
  • Court #1 will remain available and unreserved any time the SRC is open.  It is available for reservation outside normal business hours.
  • Court #4 is reserved for badminton and pickleball when the SRC is open.  It is available to be reconfigured for other sports outside normal business hours.
  • Court #5 is reserved for volleyball when the SRC is open.  It is available to be reconfigured for other sports outside normal business hours.
  • The following may be played on Court #6 (Enclosed Gym) only: Indoor Soccer, Dodgeball, Kickball, Bags, KanJam, Spikeball.  They may also be played outside or in the Fieldhouse.
  • The following are prohibited in the SRC: Cricket, Floor Hockey, Football, Baseball, Softball, Rugby.  The following may be played only during Intramural events: Indoor Soccer, Kickball, Wiffleball.

Intramural Field Complex Reservation Policies

  • After the reservation has been confirmed, a copy of the reservation form with confirmation number will be provided for the group reserving fields. All groups will be provided with a confirmation allowing them exclusive use of the fields reserved. This confirmation must be available at the field the day of the event.
  • Parking is allowed in all designated campus lots. The gravel road is for use by authorized vehicles only.  No parking allowed at the IM Pavilion or on the fields or grass areas.
  • All recreation activities yield to academic observatory requests.
  • All lighted activities begin at sunset and MUST END BY 9:00 PM. Lights out at 9:00 pm, no exceptions.  A supervisor from Campus Recreation must be present during all lighted events.
  • ALL RESERVATIONS WILL BE POSTPONED OR RE-SCHEDULED IN THE EVENT OF INCLEMENT WEATHER.

SRC Dance Studio & Aerobics Room Reservation Policies

  • Absolutely no shoes with a heel allowed in any studio.  Athletic shoes, socks, or bare feet only.
  • Reservations will be limited to a maximum of 4 hours per week per organization or individual.
  • Reservations may be made on a one-time or semester basis.
  • Speaker must be brought in by the group reserving the space.
  • All reservations yield to Campus Recreation activities and academic classes.

Padovan Pool Reservation Policies

  • Reservations for Padovan Pool must be made a minimum of 2 weeks in advance. Requests made less than 2 weeks in advance are subject to approval based on lifeguard availability.
  • The pool will not be available for reservations during Open Swim hours.
  • Reservations may be made after 10pm Monday-Thursday, after 8pm Friday, after 5pm Saturday and Sunday.  Hours subject to change based on pool usage.
  • All pool rules must be observed by any group reserving Padovan Pool. Failure to adhere to stated rules may result in loss of scheduling privileges for all Campus Recreation facilities.
  • Absolutely no food or alcohol allowed in the pool area. Water only please.
  • All pool traffic must enter and exit through the men's and women's locker rooms. No traffic through north or south pool doors.

Abuse of any Campus Recreation Facility will result in the loss of scheduling privileges for all Campus Recreation Facilities for 1 FULL YEAR!!
