VERIFICATION OF ACADEMIC INFORMATION

Eastern Illinois University uses the National Student Clearinghouse to provide enrollment and degree verifications on behalf of the university.

Loan, or insurance companies, or any other third parties, should contact the National Student Clearinghouse directly for enrollment or degree verification at http://www.nslc.org/verifiers or 703.742.4200.

Using the National Student Clearinghouse is the quickest way for lenders to verify enrollment at EIU.

Students may obtain Enrollment Certificates from the National Student Clearinghouse for free by logging in through PAWS. Using a browser other than Internet Explorer is recommended.

  • The enrollment certificate is available online through the https://www.eiu.edu/pawslogin/  under Student Records. If you are providing the certificate for an insurance company, the top of the certificate has a space for a policy number.

Click here to learn about how to access the enrollment verification form in PAWS.

Notes:

New Students – Your enrollment status will not be verified until after the 10th day of a semester or term when we submit enrollment information for the semester to the Clearinghouse. After this date, you may use the certificate in PAWS.

If you are providing the certificate for an insurance company, the top of the certificate has a space for a policy number.

Enrollment Status depends on the number of credits you are currently enrolled in based on the academic level of your program. Classes that are dropped do not count as enrolled credits.
