Composed of faculty, staff, and students from throughout the university, the Honors Council was established in 1982 and is tasked with advising the Dean of the Honors College on any matter pertaining to Honors programming at Eastern. In addition to fulfilling several roles in an advisory capacity (follow the link above for additional information), Honors Council members serve as reviewers of the following:
The Undergraduate Research Council is composed of faculty members from across the university who review and select undergraduate research and creative projects. The student projects are presented annually to members of the general campus and community at the EIU Research and Creative Activity Day Conference. Council members also review URSCA Award applications and recommend travel stipends for students and faculty presentations at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR).
