  • If you're applying for financial aid for fall 2024, spring 2025, or summer 2025, complete the 2024-2025 FAFSA.

The process of applying for financial aid at the Eastern Illinois University is simple. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required to apply for financial aid using our school code of 001674. To receive full consideration for all financial aid programs, you should complete the FAFSA as soon as possible after Oct. 1* for the following fall semester (August of the following year). *The FAFSA for 2025-2026 may be delayed until December 2024.

In addition, if you plan to enroll in summer school an online summer financial aid application is also required, this is available on our website April 1 before the summer term begins.

After you file a FAFSA, the information is forwarded to the OFA by the federal government. The OFA processes the information and sends award letters to students starting in approximately January indicating the amount of financial assistance applicants will receive.
