The Counseling Clinic is committed to upholding the highest standards of ethics, privacy, and professionalism. We adhere to confidentiality laws, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and the ethical and legal guidelines set forth by the American Counseling Association (ACA).

The EIU Counseling Clinic is proudly accredited by the International Accreditation of Counseling Services (IACS). This accreditation ensures that we meet and maintain rigorous standards in the following areas: Our relationship to the university community, Ethical practices, Clinical service delivery, Counseling services personnel, and Organizational infrastructure. As part of our IACS accreditation, we are required to uphold these standards and submit annual reports to maintain compliance and quality of care.
