Our Purpose

Strong Man LogoWe, the members of STRONG M.A.N. of Eastern Illinois University, are an initiative/registered student organization housed in the Office of Belonging, Access, and Engagement. STRONG, an initiative open to all EIU students who identify as male, is designed to assist EIU in enhancing the recruitment, retention, and graduation rates of Black and Latino males, according to institutional data. By participating in STRONG, students can gain a supportive community, access to academic resources, and personal and professional growth opportunities. The organization intends to encourage confidence, integrity, self-respect, and self-esteem by providing positive role models and networking with other educational, industrial, and recreational professionals.
