The Sarah Bush Lincoln Scholarship is a last-dollar award for local students admitted to the Traditional Nursing Program at Eastern Illinois University (EIU). It covers any remaining tuition, fees, and room and board after other scholarships and financial aid have been applied.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered, applicants must:
Be admitted to EIU as a full-time incoming freshman
Declare a major in Pre-Nursing
Have a high school GPA of 3.30 or higher (on a 4.00 scale)
Attend high school in, or reside in, one of the following Illinois counties: Clark, Coles, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Effingham, Fayette, Jasper, Moultrie, or Shelby
Application Process
Visit http://eiu.academicworks.com and search for “Sarah Bush Lincoln Scholarship” to apply. Applications are accepted between October 1st and December 1st. Finalist will be notified via Panthermail in early December to schedule in-person interviews in late December or early January.
Award Details
Receipts will be notified by January 31st, with funds disbursed the following fall and spring semesters. The scholarship is renewable for up to 8 semesters (4 years), provided the student maintains continuous full-time enrollment and remains in good standing within the EIU Traditional Prelicensure BSN Nursing Program.
