Temporary Total Disability (TTD) benefits are paid to the injured employee who must lose time from work to recover from a work-related injury or illness. The employee is entitled to collect TTD benefits until able to return to work that is reasonably available to him or her.
The benefit is two-thirds of the employee's average weekly salary, subject to certain limits. This average is based on the employee's wages during the year before the injury or illness. The rate is fixed at the time of injury or illness, and does not change with changes in the employee's salary or the statewide average weekly wage. No compensation is payable for the first three working days, unless the lost time continues for 14 or more calendar days from the date of injury.
TTD benefits will begin once the workers' compensation claim has been approved. TTD benefits are not automatic, and must be requested by the employee.
Please contact the workers' compensation coordinator if you wish to be paid by TTD.
