Angela Anthony, Ph.D., Associate Professor
Department of Communication Disorders and Sciences
College of Health and Human Services

An EIU alumna and former honors student, Dr. Angela Anthony returned to campus as a faculty member in 2006. She earned her master’s degree from Gallaudet University and her Ph.D. from the University of Virginia. As Departmental Honors Coordinator since 2009, she has directed or co-directed more than 25 honors theses and mentors all CDS honors students each year. Dr. Anthony helps students develop research topics, prepare conference presentations, and apply for graduate programs—many earning recognition at state and national levels.Dr. Angela Anthony has been a dedicated member of the Eastern Illinois University faculty since 2006 and began serving as the Department Honor’s Coordinator in 2009. She has served on the University Honor’s Council for 9 years with several terms as chair and has been recognized with the Distinguished Honor’s Faculty Award. Dr. Anthony has directed or co-directed more than 25 undergraduate honor’s theses. She mentors all CDS honor’s students every year by helping them choose research topics, encouraging them to submit presentations, helping them apply for graduate programs and scholarships, and nominating them for awards.
