Subject: D2L Email will Change on May 10

In May 2021, we conducted a survey asking faculty for their preferences on email communication with students.  We received an overwhelming number of responses.  82.5% preferred to use Panthermail to communicate with students compared to D2L email, and 82% would prefer to have Panthermail integrated within D2L.  As a result, we made the announcement in October 2021 that the faculty have spoken and Panthermail would be integrated within D2L in May 2022 after spring term ends. 

Therefore, email in D2L will be reconfigured on May 10, 2022.  You will still be able to send email from D2L after May 10 but cannot receive email in D2L. Messages sent from D2L will automatically be sent to the recipient’s Panthermail account.  D2L email will be "send only" to Panthermail.

After the conversion, the only folder remaining in D2L email will be the Sent folder.  The Inbox in D2L email and all other folders except for the Sent folder will be deleted. Consequently, after May 10, all email messages in your Inbox in D2L and any folder other than the Sent folder will be deleted.  

 If you have received messages in D2L that you want to SAVE, you must complete one of the following methods BEFORE May 10.  

To SAVE messages received in D2L: 
You can move multiple email messages that you want to save from the "Inbox" (or another folder) to the "Sent" folder in D2L.  (Messages must be moved to the Sent folder and not subfolders.  Any subfolders will not be retained after the conversion.) D2L has informed us that all messages moved to the Sent folder (including messages received that are moved to the Sent folder) will remain in the Sent folder after the conversion.

Alternatively, you can print each individual email message or save it as a PDF file. To Print or save an email as a PDF, click on the email message in D2L.  Select the More Actions button at the bottom then select Print.  Select the Print button.  On the print screen, select your printer or change the Destination to "Save as PDF."
