Subject: Information regarding 2017 Benefits Choice

Good Morning -

As you may or may not know, the State of Illinois has partnered with Morneau Shepell to offer a new web-based online enrollment platform entitled MyBenefits Marketplace.  All plans administered by the State of Illinois will utilize this enrollment platform during the next Benefits Choice period (May 2017).

The website, www.MyBenefits.illinois.gov, is designed specifically for members to streamline benefit options into a one-stop shop for insurance needs.  The online system will be user friendly and comprehensive with the goal of providing information 24/7.  Members will also have the option to call a customer service representative for assistance or enrollment over the phone but the preferred method will be to use the web based platform.

Whether or not employees will be making changes to their health, dental, life or flex spending choices this May, at some point there will likely be a need to have access to this system.  This will be the main portal for employees to review information and make changes.  In addition, updating information such as a preferred e-mail address will ensure that employees are getting the most current information regarding their benefits made available by the State of Illinois.

Because of the significant change in enrollment/change procedures, the EIU Benefits office will be conducting informal training on utilization of the new system.  Open forum training sessions have been scheduled for April 27th at 9 AM and 2 PM in the Mattoon/Charleston room of the MLK Jr. Union.  Pre-registration is not required but attendance at either session is highly recommended.

If there are questions regarding this training, please contact Benefits Services at benefits@eiu.edu or by calling 581-5825.

Thank You!
