EIU Master of Arts in Music

All students can apply to the graduate school through MyEIU. The graduate school requires:

1. A complete online application
2. A copy of your official transcripts
3. A $30 application fee

Thank you for your interest in graduate study at Eastern Illinois University. To be eligible for degree candidacy, applicants must meet all of the requirements for admission to the Graduate School.

Your program application is also accessed through your MyEIU account where you will submit the following:

1. Email addresses for two references who can provide letters of recommendation
2. Provide a resume
3. Provide a statement of interest
4. Composition concentration applicants will upload scores and recordings.
5. Performance and Conduction concentration applicants will provide a link to a recent performance or rehearsal
6. If you are applying to a performance concentration please schedule an audition request here

If you are interested in a graduate assistantship, you also need to submit a graduate assistantship application.

Graduate assistantships are typically awarded in accordance with the academic year. Assistantship applications are normally accepted through the middle of February; a decision for the next academic year comes within a month. For more information about graduate assistantships, please click here.
