Something Wicked This Way Comes…By Mya Harbison | Audience Development Manager On Wednesday, October 29, from 5:00–8:00 pm, the Tarble will transform into a house of haunted wonders for The Art of Fear. Step inside—if you dare—for a night of eerie encounters: a costume contest with chillingly good prizes, cursed objects uncovered from the depths of the vault, a monster mashed potato bar, and more. This spine-tingling evening is members only, but don’t fear—EIU students can join Tarble for free. Saturday Studio WorkshopsCoiling it Down.Instructor: Emily Bales, Graduate Assistant Saturday 10.18.2025 1–5pm Free; Registration required This workshop will cover basic techniques of coil basketry. Learn about the history of coiling and the different materials and methods used to create a wide variety of forms. Once you master the basics, continue on to create your own coiled piece with a wide variety of materials such as rope, yarn, fabric, and even plant matter. Objects can include bowls, coasters, placemats, hats, jewelry, and just about anything you can think of. By the Moon: Tarble Wellness Full Moon Sound BathMonday 10.06.2025 5–6pm Free & open to the public Bring your own yoga mat or blanket, and join us to experience a sound bath, scheduled to coincide with the full moon and support collective stillness, gratitude, and reflection. Doors will lock at 5:05pm, and entry will not be permitted while meditation is in progress. No prior experience is necessary; all are welcome, but space is limited. Quarter Moon JournalingWednesday 10.15.2025 5–7pm Free & open to the public Bring your journal—or come ready to make your own—and join the circle for an evening of creative reflection inspired by the third quarter moon. The Tarble will provide a variety of materials and tools to support your process, or you can bring your own. No prior experience is necessary; all are welcome. New Moon YogaMonday 10.21.2025 5–6pm Free & open to the public Grab your yoga mat and join us during the new moon for a gentle yoga practice at the Tarble. With the metaphor provided by the darkest possible sky, we will consider the potentiality of blank space and new beginnings through heart-opening flows. All experience levels welcome.
