Title IX Investigation Underway

Last week, the University was informed of serious allegations involving an EIU employee, prompting us to initiate an internal Title IX investigation. On June 26, following our established internal procedures, we placed the employee on administrative leave effective June 27. To ensure a thorough and independent process, an external firm will conduct the investigation. As this investigation is ongoing and concerns a personnel issue, we are unable to share further details at this time.

Please know that EIU is deeply committed to the safety and well-being of every member of our community. We strongly encourage anyone who has experienced sexual harassment or assault to report their concerns to the Office of Civil Rights, the Dean of Students, the University Police Department, or local law enforcement.
