Free Money Mastery Class at EIU Monday, January 22

Dr. Linda Simpson to offer tips & tricks for securing a financial future

(Charleston, IL) – Eastern Illinois University’s Academy of Lifelong Learning will offer a free class focusing on money mastery featuring EIU professor and financial management expert Dr. Linda Simpson.

Mastering Money: Unveiling Truths and Strategies for Financial Success, will take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, January 22 in the Auditorium (Room 1501) of Buzzard Hall, on EIU’s campus at 600 Lincoln Avenue, Charleston. The event is free and open to the public.

Simpson, the class host, has been a faculty member at EIU since 1997. Her subject matter expertise is in the areas of consumer studies, family resource management, and financial literacy. She has developed numerous publications and has presented at local, state, national, and international conferences on the topics of online teaching and learning, budgeting and debt management, and consumer behavior. Her most recent book, Mindful and Intentional Money Management: An Unbeatable System to Calm the Chaos was released in October.

In the session, Simpson will discuss the pervasive influence of money on various life aspects, dispel common financial misconceptions, reveal essential money management secrets, and provide practical guidance on curbing non-essential spending and building sustainable financial habits. This session is an empowering step in the journey towards financial well-being. The event will be followed by a short reception with light refreshments where Simpson will sign copies of her book and answer participants’ financial questions.
