From WILL Champaign (The 21st Show)
As part of Hispanic Heritage Month, we are highlighting exceptional people in the community, starting with the first Hispanic Chief of Police at Eastern Illinois University, Marisol Gamboa. A first-generation American and college graduate, Gamboa grew up wanting to make her parents proud and give back to the community. Gamboa joined the force as a patrol officer in a small Texas town climbed the ranks to a lieutenant and got the call for an opportunity of a lifetime.
Listen to the radio segment with EIUPD's Chief Marisol Gamboa here. Chief Gamboa is the first Latina police chief in the State of Illinois.
