EIU’s Community Closet helps students find interview attire

Dec-09-2019

[CONTRIBUTING AUTHOR: MORGAN AUSTIN]

(Charleston, IL) – Eastern Illinois University’s Community Closet is open for students to find business casual clothes and shoes for interviews, practicum, and student teaching.

The Community Closet is located in the basement of 9th Street Hall, and it is run by Delta Alpha Pi students, which is the National Honor Society for students with disabilities. Those who are interested in seeing what the Community Closet offers can check in with April Jackson, the director of Student Disability Services, on the second floor of 9th Street Hall in office 2021, and she will point them in the right direction.

The closet is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Currently, the Community Closest is accepting donations from members of the community, but they do ask that the donations be business casual attire, so that the donated clothes can help students in the beginning stages of their career.

For more information about the Community Closet, contact April Jackson at acjackson3@eiu.edu or by calling (217) 581-6583.
