EIU Management Program

Like every degree program, the School of Business asks its majors to complete a specific set of course requirements. This page can serve as your guide to those requirements, providing a four-year plan and course checklist to outline what it takes to graduate with a Management degree.

EIU's Bachelor of Science in Management Aligns with SHRM's Curriculum Guidelines

The Bachelor of Science in Management with a concentration in Human Resource Management degree program fully aligns with The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) curriculum guidelines. This recognition reflects the quality and thoroughness of EIU's HR degree program. The program prepares students to practice HR in a variety of sectors such as businesses, nonprofits, and government. Students can be confident that their degree will place them in a position to excel when they enter their careers in Human Resource Management.

SHRM established HRM guidelines for university programs in 2005. EIU was one of the first 100 programs to be recognized for meeting the professional education needs in a systematic program according to SHRM guidelines. This recognition provides our program, potential students, employers, and graduates with an external validation of the rigor of our curriculum in meeting professional and national standards and expectations for Human Resource Management.
