The CENCERE Renewable Energy Research Mentorship Program provides opportunities for area high school students to be engaged in research on renewable energy by working with undergraduate and graduate students as well as faculty at Eastern Illinois University.
Since fall 2013, students have been meeting at the university to develop renewable energy projects. These include
Conducting biomass and gasification research
Designing an anaerobic digestor
Powering a quadcopter with solar energy
