Office of Belonging, Access & Engagement

Our mission is to create an academic environment where every individual feels a deep sense of belonging, has equal access to opportunities, and is actively engaged in their educational journey. Departmental History

The department has undergone several name changes since its establishment in 1990 as the Office of Minority Affairs (OMA). It was later renamed the Office of Inclusion and Academic Engagement (OIAE). In 2024, with the appointment of the Inaugural Senior Diversity & Inclusion Officer and Executive Director, the department was rebranded and is now known as the Office of Belonging, Access & Engagement.
