Join us on the Tarble grounds on Thursday, October 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a day of art and community as we recreate an historic land art piece originally made by Carl Wilen (1933-2018) in 1970. This event will be free and open to all with refreshments served. More information can be found here.
Professor in the Department of Art + Design from 1965 to 1994— Carl Wilen created a large-scale, site-responsive earthwork at a quarry in Charleston, Illinois. This whimsical land art piece, which one could consider a drawing of sorts, features a dotted line encircling a landmark (such a museum building) and an arrow leading from the word “CUT.”
