Writing Center

Effective writing is crucial to academic and professional success and Eastern Illinois University has a writing center to help students craft documents such as academic essays, term papers, memoranda, and professional reports. Consultants at the Writing Center collaborate with writers to help them discover and organize their ideas, assist them in producing effective and cogent support for them, and offer advice on effective methods for revising and editing their work.

The Writing Center is not a proofreading or editing service. Rather, it is a place where students can learn how to become more thoughtful, independent, and rhetorically effective writers.
