Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society partners with colleges and universities to celebrate the scholarship and leadership of adult students in higher education. Alpha Sigma Lambda is a proud member of the Association of College Honor Societies.
Membership is by invitation only and is limited to students seeking their first degree. Students must have completed a minimum of 24 hours from Eastern Illinois University. Students must also be in the top 20 percent of their class.
An induction ceremony is held on campus each year whereby students take the membership pledge and receive the opportunity to purchase an honor cord which may be worn during commencement.
Students who have completed 24 semester hours of coursework, with at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA, and have financial need can apply for the ASL Annual Scholarship. For the 2019-2020 academic year, ASL will grant thirteen (13) $3500 scholarships. Please visit the ASL scholarship page for further information.
In 2002, ASL created the William C. Hine Service Award, which honors Chapter Councilors for their commitment to promoting lifelong learning, dedication to serving adult learners, and leadership to the ASL National Honor Society. Please click here to visit the ASL website for more information.
