EARLY ARRIVAL
We are continuously updating this page for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Students who are part of a pre-approved group will be listed below. You do NOT need to submit an Early Arrival Request individually.
If your group is not yet listed, please contact your director/coach/sponsor to see if they have submitted a list to our office.
The Early Arrival Request form will open in the middle of the week of July 28. This form is for any student who is not part of a pre-approved Early Arrival Group and needs to request a move-in date prior to August 21. Submitting a request does not guarantee approval for an early move-in date. Students will receive a confirmation sent to their EIU email if their request is approved. Requests for early move-in dates due to personal convenience may only be approved one or two days in advance of August 21. Additional fees apply and all Early Arrival charges will be billed to your student account.
All students including approved Early Arrivals must use the Move-In Registration System to pre-register for a move-in date and time (opening in early August).
All check-in times:

- 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
For Early Arrival dates of July 27 to August 16: Report to Stevenson Hall to receive your keys.
Arrivals beginning August 17: Report to the front desk of your hall/area. Students in Greek Court will report to
the front desk in Building 8.
DINING INFORMATION
The residential dining centers are scheduled to open for the 2025 Fall Semester on Thursday, August 21 with lunch. However, the University Food Court will be open for business Monday-Wednesday, 7:30 am-2:00 pm, and will accept Dining Dollars, cash, and credit/debit cards.
