EIU & Scouting:
Partnering for Your Success 

In a new, unique partnership, Eastern Illinois University and The Greater Saint Louis Area Council Scouting are offering educational opportunities and support to Scouts and Scouting staff in central and southern Illinois, the St. Louis Metro area, and southeast Missouri. 

Scouts enrolling at EIU can receive the following benefits: 

• A scholarship minimum of $1,000 per year, and up to $4,000 per year depending on GPA. (To receive this benefit, the student will need to list “Scouting Member” on the application to EIU.)
• No fee to apply to EIU.
• A personalized visit day for Scouts and their families
• Financial aid workshops for Scouts
• Transfer Advisor specializing in Scouts transferring from other institutions 

Scouting staff & Volunteers enrolling at EIU can receive the following benefits: 

• Scouting staff and volunteers can receive any of the same benefits as Scouts, as long as they enroll as a full-time undergraduate student (at least 12 credit hours).
• Additionally, Scouting staff and volunteers pursuing an online degree can receive up to $1,000 in scholarships per academic year toward any online undergraduate or graduate degree listed at eiu.edu/online.
• The scholarship covers up to 12 credit hours per semester with a maximum of 48 credit hours and $2,000 total.
