Welcome! Eastern's Booth Library offers a number of services for our community patrons. Our staff is ready to help you. To get a community borrower card you must be 18 or older and a resident of Illinois. Bring a photo ID with a current address to Booth Library's Circulation Desk and ask to fill out an application. Once your card arrives in the mail you will be able to check out materials.
Community borrowers will not be able to check out any materials until they receive their card by mail. To check out items you must present your ID card and a valid photo ID. Exceptions will be made for Lake Land College students, who can receive their card immediately if they have their Lake Land card.
Community borrowers are welcome to use any of Booth Library's databases, online magazines, journals, and newspapers, inside the library. Due to licensing restrictions, we cannot offer access to these resources from outside the library to those who are not affiliated with EIU. Community borrowers are also not given interlibrary loan privileges.
Community borrowers are welcome to use Digital Library of Illinois to download audio and electronic books. Click here for access to Digital Library of Illinois.
Community borrower cards expire after one year. Please bring your expired card and a photo ID with a current address to the Circulation Desk to renew your borrowing privileges.
